One Cent Shadow Locket

Not your "average" Vintage Coin Jewellery, and for sure not your average locket!
I dare you to find another like this beautiful treasure.

Who out there remembers going to the dairy as a kid, and getting "2 for 1" cent lollies?? Well there's eight lollies here then aye.

By now, most coins have at one stage or another been turned into a shadow locket.

Well, the one cent coins haven't had much action in the locket department.
So I thought it was well over due!!

I personally love our vintage one cent coin, all that gorgeous detail of the fern is just wicked. And yes I did cut in-between, check out the third photo ; )

So the run down.... I have used four vintage one cent coins to make the shadow locket. All cut detail has been done by hand with a jewellers saw. That's what makes these lockets all the more special.

As with the Huia, to me they remind me so much of the shadow box that used to hang on the wall in my Nans home.

Closure, hinge and rings are all sterling silver, crafted from vintage sterling silver that I have recycled myself.

I have applied 3 coats of Renaissance wax, this helps to protect the bronze coins from tarnishing so fast. A wee pot of this was is included with the locket. Instruction video is on my facebook page.

Can be gently clean with a soft cloth and silver polish.

The locket does not come with a chain, if one is required please send me a message and I will update this listing. I have sterling silver or stainless steel chains available, which can be made to whatever length is required.

Like many pieces I create out of vintage items, they carry signs of a previous well loved life, which makes each piece perfectly imperfect.

Do not wear while swimming, soaking or showering, or spray with perfume etc.
